Saturday Christian Fellowship Meetings

Join us as we delve into the rich teachings of the Bible and memorialise the Holy Days, fostering a deeper connection with Yeshua (Jesus) and each other.

Weekly Sabbaths

On Saturdays we meet at 10 am in a church building in Hamilton. The venue changes from time to time, so please email us for details.

Praise & Worship

We start our meetings with blowing the shofar (ram’s horn) before leading into praise and worship: singing and praying together as a congregation.

Open Forum

After singing and prayer we have an open discussion on selected chapters from the Bible. We are working through specific books of the Bible.

The facilitator usually summarises the main points from the selected chapters, and explains the social and cultural context of the passage. Usually connections are made to other passages in the Bible, and especially the ones on our weekly reading list. The facilitator often identifies prophetic pointers to Yeshua (Jesus) and to promises yet to be fulfilled. Usually the facilitator may choose a passage to be read aloud by volunteers, usually a verse or two per person. Sometimes we divide into smaller groups, each led by a facilitator.

Everyone is welcome to ask questions and share insights that are relevant to the passages being discussed.  There is no obligation or pressure on anyone to take part. People find it easier to follow and engage in the discussion if they have read the chapters during the preceding week. Communion

Our discussion time is followed by Communion, using bread and grape juice. A gluten-free option is available.

Children’s Programme

During the discussion time there is a programme for children in an adjacent room, led by parents and trained teachers. The aim of this programme is to teach children key narratives and principles from the Bible through group discussions, short videos, and art and craft activities. The children are also given opportunities to learn songs and some Hebrew vocabulary.

After Communion the children are given an opportunity to show the congregation a craft activity they completed that morning.

On the third Sabbath of the month we have a shared lunch also, with fellowship often continuing until 3 pm. 

We believe that the biblical food laws in Leviticus 11 still apply to believers. Here’s a list of ingredients we do our best to avoid. 

Intercessory Prayer

Everyone is invited to share prayer requests with the congregation. There is no pressure on anyone to pray aloud during these prayer times.

Morning Tea

Usually our meetings end around 12:30 pm with the Aaronic blessing (Numbers 6:22-27), followed by morning tea and snacks.

Fellowship often continues until 2 pm.

Shared Lunch & Fellowship Meeting

On the third Sabbath of each month we have a shared lunch.

After lunch we have a fellowship meeting, which is an opportunity for anyone to raise questions or make suggestions about the way things are done.
