Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) Celebration

Let us celebrate together, in anticipation of Jesus’ Second Coming!
The Hebrew name for the Day of Trumpets is Yom Teruah, which means “day of making a clamour or loud noise”.
The shofar (ram’s horn) is associated with this day, because it has been used to make such a noise, for example when marching around Jericho (Joshua 6). The shofar was also used to notify Israel that it was time to move from one place to the next (Numbers 10:5-6). “Shofar” is often translated as “trumpet”.
This Feast of Trumpets is celebrated on the first day of the seventh biblical month (Leviticus 23:23-26). On this day we rest from our daily work to celebrate, in anticipation of Jesus’ Second Coming.
The sounding of the trumpet is associated with Jesus’ Second Coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) and the first resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:51-53).
The loud noise on the Day of Trumpets is also a call to repentance in preparation for the Day of Atonement, 10 days later.
At this Day of Trumpets Celebration, we will reflect on the significance of this Feast for followers of Jesus (Yeshua) today.
